Fota House is Ireland’s finest example of Regency period architecture with superb neoclassical interiors. Discover the grand decor of the principal rooms and charming nursery, or the service wing with the beautifully preserved kitchens, where you can experience what life was like for the servants who supported the lavish lifestyle of the gentry.
Fota House hosts a wide range of events and there is always something to do here including seasonal offerings for families, a programme of cultural events, gardening events and much more. We have a great choice of fun activities for our younger visitors; our children’s house tour ‘Where is Mrs. Kevin’s Cat?’, enjoy the glorious gardens with our ‘Little Explorers Tree Trail’ and ‘Junior Plant Hunter Trail’, or get stuck in in the Victorian Frameyard Garden in ‘Digging For History’ or discover all about biodiversity on the ‘Queen Maeve and the Honey Bees’ tour!
Our House tour is fully guided and lasts 45 minutes.
Follow on and discover our Victorian Working Gardens, with beautifully restored glass houses and bothy buildings.
